ULA TDs condemn Eamon Gilmore for his inaction regarding the ongoing detentions of Irish nationals in Israel

In an interview with Marian Finucane, on RTE on 6 October, Independent TD Mick Wallace said that he had informed me about his tax evasion and falsification of VAT returns long before these became public knowledge. Claiming to be surprised about my ‘negativity’ following the revelations of his actions, he said, ‘I told Joe about [the under declaration of the VAT] months before that and he didn’t seem near as perturbed about it…. it really only became a big issue for people like Joe when the media hounded him.’

Over 350 people attended the United Left Alliance (ULA) National Forum, held in Dublin on June 25. This forum was held exactly four months since the General Election at which the ULA won 5 Dail seats and was the first national gathering of ULA activists from throughout the state.

A difficult few months for the United Left Alliance was made significantly more difficult by the recent withdrawal of Seamus Healy TD and the Workers & Unemployed Action Group in Tipperary from the alliance. The ULA is at a crossroads and its future uncertain.
