First, George Barrett reports from a huge protest in Clonmel against the downgrading of the local hospital there. Next there is an interview with a doctor at Connolly Hospital in Dublin West about the impact of the €13million cutbacks planned for that hospital. Councillor Mick Barry from Cork reports on the threat to the Orthapeic hospital there, and finally Mick Murphy discusses the shocking lack of GPs in the Tallaght area.

CUTBACKS IN the home help service are taking a heavy toll in human misery. Just before Christmas, Eamonn Timmins of Age Action Ireland went public on the story of a 94 year old woman who had been put on a three-year waiting list for home help services.
